Fatso Weed Strain Information & Review
Fatso is one phat strain.
Start with its THC content which averages 28%, about the highest you’ll find in any commercially-available weed. Then consider its skunky but enticing aroma, and its delicious coffee flavor that has notes of almost every other imaginable taste blended in.
And then there’s the high it delivers. Fatso, sometimes called Fatso OG or Fatso Kush, is an indica-dominant (70%-30%) heavy hitter.
Smokers experience an uplifting, stress-busting euphoria that can be creative and focusing, even sexually arousing. They’re then hit by a powerful, couch-locking body stone that can last for hours — unless they succumb and fall asleep before it’s over.
The potency is understandable since Fatso is the child of two revered parents, GMO Cookies and Legends OG. The strain name is understandable, too: the buds are shaped like chunky spades.
Effects
It only takes a couple of tokes for Fatso’s head high to arrive. And it’s a strong one, as mood-elevating happiness quickly erases any anxiety or stress. Many users find the cerebral buzz boosts their mental energy, creativity, and focus, but others simply find themselves reveling in the mellow bliss. Sexual arousal isn’t uncommon with this strain, either.
However, Fatso has another large shoe to drop. Tingly full-body relaxation turns into a powerful physical heaviness that locks users firmly to the couch for the rest of the long-lasting high. Complete sedation or sleep aren’t givens but they’re certainly possibilities, particularly for those who aren’t used to smoking weed that’s this powerful.
There’s no doubt about it: this is an evening smoke. You’re not going to be able to fight off Fatso’s potent body stone long enough to get much accomplished at work or around the house. This bud is ideal for a chill after-dinner experience or as a before-bed treat that will help you get a good night’s sleep.
Bottom Line: Fatso doesn’t fool around. This ultra-potent weed strain provides a happy, uplifting head high that’s followed by a relaxing and almost-incapacitating body stone.

Side Effects
You probably know that you have to be extremely careful when playing with weed this strong. Even experienced users should start slowly with Fatso; it may cause dizziness, anxiety, paranoia, or panic attacks with overconsumption. Novice smokers and those already suffering from anxiety issues should either microdose to get used to Fatso — or avoid this strain entirely.
The usual side effects of high-THC cannabis strains like dry eyes, dry mouth, coughing, and dehydration are quite likely to pay users a visit, as are the munchies. The sedating experience may also affect speech and coordination, too.

Medical Conditions
Almost all MMJ users can find a lot to like about Fatso.
Patients with chronic or severe pain say the powerful body melt works wonders, whether they’re dealing with back pain or cramps, arthritis or fibromyalgia, injuries, or even cancer. Fatso is said to be an ideal weed for people with insomnia or poor sleep problems, and chemotherapy patients use this strain to help with the appetite loss and nausea they often face.
And we haven’t even mentioned the euphoria that Fatso provides, which eliminates the negative and recurring thoughts common to those suffering from all forms of stress, anxiety, and depression. (Although it’s important to remember our cautions about how this strain’s THC may affect those patients.) Those with ADD or ADHD also appreciate the focus that Fatso offers.
Flavor and Aroma
Fatso has the pungent, skunky smell you might expect from weed with an OG heritage. The bud’s most obvious scent is coffee, but there’s a wealth of others to choose from: earth, wood, diesel, herbs, flowers, and fruit. It’s unquestionably loud, but also intriguing and enjoyable.
The taste of this strain is quite similar, although the coffee flavor comes through loud and clear from the start. You’ll also notice citrus, diesel, pine, nuts, earth, vanilla — you name it, it’s in there. And unless you’re partial to dessert strains instead of “weed that tastes like weed,” you’ll probably find it delicious.
Flavor and Aroma Ratings:

Cannabinoids and Terpenes
We’ve already mentioned the eye-popping number: 28%.
That’s the average level of THC in Fatso, and it’s been known to reach 31% in some batches that have been lab-tested. There’s good and bad news associated with such high potency; the strain’s effects are legendary, but it’s very easy to get overwhelmed by such a powerful weed. There’s very little CBD in Fatso, although there are decent amounts of CBC and CBG.
The dominant terpenes in this strain are limonene, myrcene, linalool, caryophyllene, eucalyptol, and humulene, with trace amounts of several more — explaining this bud’s wide range of aromas, flavors, and effects.
Lineage
The prolific Colorado breeder Cannarado gets the credit for crossing GMO Cookies and Legends OG to create Fatso. (A few cannabis resource sites think that Garlic GMO Cookies was one of the parents, but they’re in the minority — and Cannarado is closed-mouthed about its strains.)
GMO Cookies and Legends OG are both heavily indica-dominant with THC content in the mid-20% range, so the potency and extremely strong body stone of Fatso come as absolutely no surprise.
Where to Buy Fatso Seeds
One important caution: Cannarado doesn’t just keep its breeding information secret. It doesn’t release its seeds, either. That means any Fatso seeds you purchase have been sourced from plants grown by someone else. They may be good, or they may not — just be aware of the risks ahead of time.
With that being said, Sonoma Seeds and Bulk MJ Seeds sell feminized Fatso seeds online, Seedsman has auto-flowering seeds, and Strainly offers Fatso clones.
Similar Strains
It’s not easy to find other strains that pack this much of a punch, but God’s Gift, G-13, Bruce Banner #3, and The White are some that will do much of the same job as Fatso.

A: This is a fast-growing strain, taking just 7-8 weeks to flower and then only about another 7 weeks before the plants are ready to harvest.
