South Park fans will love the reference to Member Berries, the series’ recurring “characters” this delicious indica-dominant hybrid is named after.

Member Berry delivers a happy and fun cerebral high that’s stress-busting, creative, and relatively gentle. Despite a heritage that includes Afghani indica, the body buzz is relaxing but not overpowering. It usually doesn’t get in the way of daytime or evening activities, although users may be ready to head to bed when the high wears off.

The flavor of this strain is sweet and tart, much like a fruit punch that’s had citrus fruit added into the mix, with a bit of pine and skunk for good measure. The nugs are an attractive bright green with darker accents, and the THC content is moderately high but not overwhelming.

Effects

You don’t have to wait for Member Berry’s long-lasting effects to take hold. The initial tingles begin almost immediately.

The high starts with joyful cerebral euphoria, leaving no room for stress or the troubling thoughts that may have been dragging you down before you sparked up. The feeling is more gentle and sociable than it is energetic, but a burst of creativity is likely to have you picking up a paintbrush or guitar, or thinking about those projects you’ve been putting off.

“Gentle” is also a good word for the relaxing physical effects of Member Berry. You’ll feel tense muscles at ease and joints loosen, but you won’t be locked up or looking for the nearest couch to sink into. As the experience winds down, you’ll feel satisfied and the happiness will linger, but you may also find that you’re ready to check out for a long nap.

Member Berry can be a good choice for afternoon use (bearing in mind that you may get sleepy after the experience is over). It’s even better if you’re planning to head out for an evening on the town, or get together with friends for dinner or a session of binge-watching. Many users find this strain to be arousing, making it ideal for use before (or during) sex.

Bottom Line: Member Berry’s high is delightful. It’s uplifting, creative, and happy, with body relief that’s noticeable but not strong enough to lock the body or prevent full enjoyment of the cerebral effects.

Positive Effects:

  • Stress: 4/5

Side Effects

Member Berry’s gentle high means that it’s unlikely to cause many side effects for the majority of users. Cottonmouth and dry eyes are quite possible, of course, since it’s weed. Smoking too much may lead to a headache, and those with low THC tolerance might get a little dizzy.

Otherwise, this is a benign strain except perhaps for smokers dealing with anxiety, some of whom might notice that issue worsening. They should start slowly with Member Berry until they’re sure it won’t negatively affect their mental state.

Negative Effects:

  • Paranoid: 2/5
  • Dry Mouth: 4/5
  • Dry Eyes: 4/5
  • Lethargy: 2/5
  • Cough: 3/5

Medical Conditions

The cerebral buzz this strain provides makes it popular among MMJ users who are coping with psychological issues like depression, anxiety, and stress. Patients say that Member Berry essentially wipes out the problematic doubts and negative thoughts that cause their distress, and even those dealing with serious problems like PTSD and OCD love this bud.

Medical users suffering from chronic and serious pain have mixed feelings about Member Berry. Some report that it’s able to help with headaches and minor aches and pains, but the lack of a strong body buzz may leave it unable to make much of a dent in tougher pain issues. Some patients with insomnia do find this weed gets them in a mood conducive to sleep.

Flavor and Aroma

“Gentle” is the word we keep coming back to, and it’s a good way to describe the scent of Member Berry. You’ll be able to smell fruit, berries, citrus, pine, and a bit of skunk in this flower, but the aroma won’t smack you in the face and you may not even notice many of the elements until you break up the buds.

Flavor? That’s a different story. You’ll taste an abundance of grapes, oranges, and berries, along with some pine and a little skunk, but the smoke is generally sweet, tart, and yummy.

Flavor and Aroma Ratings:

  • Earthy: 2/5
  • Citrus: 4/5
  • Fruity: 4/5
  • Spice: 2/5
  • Wood: 3/5

Cannabinoids and Terpenes

Member Berry isn’t a THC powerhouse, but its average THC content of 18% is much more than respectable. Since cannabinoid levels vary between batches, you might also find some dispensaries selling this strain with THC content in the low 20% range. CBD, CBN, CBG, and CBC levels are usually well below 1%.

Myrcene and linalool are the two dominant terpenes in this strain, with moderate levels of limonene, valencene, and caryophyllene, and lesser amounts of carene and humulene also present.

Lineage

Colorado’s ETHOS Genetics created the Member Berry strain; that’s fitting, considering South Park’s Colorado setting. They crossed Skunkberry and Mandarin Sunset to come up with this delicious child strain.

Skunkberry is famed for its ridiculously-high THC content, soaring cerebral high, and berry/citrus flavor, and Mandarin Sunset contributes additional fruitiness to Member Berry. The indica heritage we referred to earlier comes from the Mandarin Sunset side.

Where to Buy Member Berry Seeds

Feminized Member Berry seeds supplied by ETHOS Genetics are available from a number of online vendors including Seeds Here Now, North Atlantic Seed Company, and Seed Cellar.

Similar Strains

Member Berry can be difficult to find, particularly if you don’t live on the West Coast. Some other strains to try instead include Purple Dream, Purple Unicorn, Bubblicious, and Gelato #3.
